what i got from mike, nice grinding,

ok,, so to reuse this, od used 1/4 inch, with no problems, me i would like 3/8's . as long as turned down part is there, that should be just lower than bracket, so when you torque it down your pulling spacer up.

using 3/8's the bolt head will cover the 1/2 inch hole. without a washer. will have to drill into that spacer at least half way for threads.

if i make this up, the end plates will have a 7/16th hole. the plates maybe stainless. drill through the spacer for 7/16 bolt. like i did for mine ,, but without inner washers, think i said why i had to do that.
