871 and 872 are the regular long torsion bars.
Interesting thing from the revised July 1, 1956 parts manual
445871 is the long left bar for 5580; 5680-88
6489154 is the long right bar for 5580; 5680-88
I would have thought the other bar would have part number 445872.
The picture with the stamped bar 365, could it be the short bar for 5640-60-70?
445365 is listed for those models
445420 is listed as the short bar for 5580; 5680-88
I measured them at 51 inches
Another interesting thing is that the senior cars used the same bars for 55-56. There are different part numbers for the left bars, and short bars for the 55-56 Clippers. The long right bar part number 445874 was used on both the 55-56 Clippers. I wonder what was changed just for the Clippers?
So what would the number below the 3 digit number indicate?
