I am not sure how you can tell it is a 56 over a 55 except maybe the eyebrows.
The eyebrows are what I look for first. Also, the dagmars (aka bombs) are farther apart on the 56. The 56 had them directly below the headlights, the 55's are closer to the centerline of the car.
