I don't know, but empirically I can tell you that running the full current through the switch is a
bad design! I had to disassemble the 4-switch in my Pat and clean all the contacts because there is no relay in the loop and some of the contacts were burned. I had a similar problem on a 1979 Trans Am Firebird I restored and had to do the same thing.
The relays & aftermarket power windows setup on my 55 Pat has been installed since June 2014 and hasn't hiccuped yet.
