Okay, take the VIN plate, cut out the thief number and weld it onto another car, grind the motor number off another car, and presto, you have the first Caribbean reincarnated.

I wouldn't worry about the trans number because they were being swapped by desperate dealers.

Restoring that thing is like trying to repair termite wood. But if they want to spend the money and support their local restorer I guess that is a good thing.

As far as the history goes, I deal with a lot of young people here in Michigan. What they don't learn in school is appalling. I hear about engineers starting out at $12 an hour, but if they didn't learn anything at college a living wage is not cost justified. If I start talking about integral calculus I get a blank stare. So understanding the world is not something people are interested in.
