Removal Headlamp Switch 1955

I'm having problems removing the headlamp switch in my '55. Any and all guidance would be greatly appreciated. Some pictures might also be helpful.

I see the instructions of page 47 of the electrical section, but I'm having problems with the knob and could use some helpful hints.
