It does look to be the 55-6 version since it appears to have the short mast housing. There should be a coiled hollow tube that attaches to the housing next to the motor at the point the nylon exits which holds the excess length of nylon when the masts are down. On the earlier 6v version of that style antenna the mast section was longer and tube holding the nylon was formed into a large oval. On later units both mast and tube units became much more compact. Not exactly sure when the change to the more compact version was made available but could have been late 53 or maybe with the 54 intro.

Here are the two most common front electric versions. There was a third very compact style used for the 55-6 rear trunk mount antennas. Those coiled the excess nylon inside the drive housing. The third style was standard on Caribbeans and optionally available for most other 55-6 models.
