Re: Monroe power steering pump

Question would be if anyone knows if the pumps for Bendix systems were identified with any markings. Packard does not mention any markings for Bendix in the 1955 SC article on how to identify the pumps.

The pumps for 55-56 Monroe systems have a higher pressure output and according to Packard those were identified by a 900 stamped on the output fitting. I have one and it is clearly stamped 900. The pump Riki shows only has a single stamped 0 so did Packard get lazy in the last days and save stamping time on Monroe pumps by using a single digit or could Bendix pumps have been labeled in that way?

With the pump mounted in the car the labeling is low and well hidden so if anyone has a known Bendix pump that is out of the car or maybe in a car without a battery so the output fitting can at least be seen and would check it could help answer the question.
