It would be nice but after this length of time it could well have made it to Mexico or South America or even farther. Sometime last year I read about the bust of a foreign ring specializing in stealing high end cars -- both of the classic and modern variety. With this ring, most cars were taken from LA and vicinity with a few from Las Vegas. Thieves took them right out of garages and storage lots and even a few from off the street.

From news reports, that gang was just one of many foreign crime rings suspected of operating by flying into US, doing their crimes, and getting back out before they got caught. This batch of stolen cars wound up being trucked to some freight facility run by associates where false papers were made and cars were loaded in containers for transport to various places where they brought top dollar with few questions asked. Wouldn't be at all surprising if other gangs were working in other parts of the country and probably for a fair amount of time.

Aside from the items stolen, apparently that ring was not too much different from the one with 4 or 5 Chilean men just busted in the last week or so for breaking into the high dollar homes of sports figures while they were playing their away games.
