I would also suggest laying a straightedge across the bolt holes from the engine side of the pan and tap down any that are raised. If someone has tried to control a leak and the bolts were tightened a bit too much the cork gasket will compress allowing holes to be pushed up and distorted. That has been an issue for several because the gasket can no longer be compressed very much between holes and seepage can result. Additional tightening to control that seepage just results in a worse situation. This also applies to the transmission pan.
