I'm not being critical, but not every engine launch had problems. The 49 Caddy and 51 Chrysler Hemi success killed Packard the antique Chrysler transmission notwithstanding. The only way Packard could have survived would have been if the 55 product launch was thoroughly tested and trouble free.
