Stuck vent windows?

Does anyone know the cause/fix of vent windows sticking in these cars? Between my sedan and hardtop I have 6 stuck windows. 
Was talking with Ross some time ago and he said (IIRC) that there's a nylon piece that breaks in them, however I have a rear window from a 53 200 to play with, it works and I don't see any such component. Likewise on the stuck ones (still on the car but the door cards/armrests are off so I can see in) I don't see where the problem would be.
On the front windows, they're supposed to turn a bit more than ΒΌ turn, right? The ones in my sedan are not important but I want to get the (front) ones working in my 400 over the winter if I can. But I don't see what's even wrong with them.
This is what I'm seeing in my 53 window in the open position. Did they change the design between 53 and 55?
