Hello,
In the coming weeks I will be disassembling/inspecting my 320 V8 engine. I am already familiar with the engine service manual and can do those metrological inspections, but I am wondering if there are any other tips or shortcuts besides following the manual verbatim. The engine is out of the car.
Also, what should I use as a substitute for some of the special tools? For example, the damper I believe you can just borrow or rent a puller from an auto parts store, but some of the other things I am not so sure.
Also, does anyone know if you can get just a water pump impeller? I'd rather rebuild it myself than buy one that's already rebuilt.
