how can there be a way to prove its fixed, when no one knows what is wrong!?

You make some good points, but consider this:

1) The BTV fails unexpectedly and catastrophically. This is a FACT.

In order to PROVE it is fixed, then one would have to prove it NEVER fails unexpectedly and catastrophically.

The alternative is to replace the BTV with something else that has a proven track record of NEVER failing catastrophically. A dual-master MC NEVER fails catastrophically (unless it has been sabotaged, which is outside the scope of this discussion).

I have no other option than run the current BTV in my car right now.

Then you had better leave it parked.
