I would expect to find GM markings on ANY Rochester carb of the period - no matter what brand of automobile they were originally intended for. Rochester Products was a division of General Motors. (Heck, you'll find emissions control parts under the hood of plenty of Chrysler Corp. vehicles bearing the Rochester Products logo, but no pentastar.) Conversely, I've never seen Packard marking on any Rochester 4GC.

If the tag numbers noted in your opening post in this thread are correct, and if the number for the rear carb is only missing a trailing zero, then the original applications appear to be:

7005900 = 1954 Olds 324-cid V8 w/ automatic trans.

7007000 = 1955 Olds 324-cid V8 w/ automatic trans.

These carbs were designed for SINGLE 4-bbl. applications, rather than a synchronized 2x4 set-up. IIRC, the only other brand offering factory-installed 2x4 4GCs in this time frame was Cadillac.

Simply rejetting might not be enough to make your Carib run properly.

For example, there are several pieces missing from the carbs as shown in your pix, like the automatic choke system - including choke valve, shaft, linkage, and (on one carb) the fast idle cam. If this was intentional, I hope the resulting vacuum leaks have been addressed.

Also, it appears that the carbs are mounted on spacers, which should not be necessary - except, perhaps, that your throttle operating linkage is incorrectly fitted/fabricated. While the pix that HH56 provided are from a '56 car, it IS (as he said) essentially the same as what's presented, in full detail, in SC Vol. 29, No. 6, p. 32.

The factory shop manual, service bulletins, and parts book already available on the PackardInfo site for your car, and I provided scans of 1955-56 Packard Rochester 4GC Service Information (carb sheets). Read them, print them, love them, share them with your carburetor specialist!!!
