Not sure which model either but looks like maybe a 60 series. Did the compressor look similar to this or was it a smaller but longer version.

Those first Frigidaire systems had an interesting temp control. A real mercury thermostat in a glass tube which worked an electrical contact when the column of mercury raised or lowered. To change temp, the operator turned a rheostat which worked a heater on the mercury bulb. The more cold you wanted, the heater would heat the bulb more so the unit had to stay on longer to overcome the heat and thus the air got colder. Later Cadillac versions got rid of the mercury and went to regular mechanical thermostats but still used the heater setup on the sensing tube for awhile.

In Packards version AC was a neck freezer because the air blew out the package shelf directly at the rear passengers neck and head. Maybe that's why those cars were equipped with a lap robe rail. For the front passengers to be comfortable, anyone sitting in the back needed a muffler or blanket to wrap around the shoulders and neck.
