Hadn't heard of that brand -- maybe farm implement only? Wonder how similar it is to the Studebaker and Borg co-designed mechanical power steering Studebaker briefly tried in 53 or 54.

That unit had a belt driven idler pulley and long shaft with universal joints going into the steering gearbox. Had a pair of counter-rotating assemblies with continuously spinning clutch plates. More & faster you turned the steering wheel, tighter the clutches were applied for that direction and power directed to the output.

Very few made before they changed to hydraulic and retrofitted those delivered so must have been somewhat problematic.
