I like the phone but would be a waste. Am too cheap to pay for a phone plan I would never use. A $20 TracFone card every 3 months does all I need to do. The iPhone pay as you go is a bit more expensive. Might be nice if I needed the features or programs or even played games but the iPod would do most of that if wi-fi was available.

I like the iPad very much and even played with one quite a while at the Apple store last week. Was tempted but decided I want the new iMac first. I'm spoiled just plugging the camera in and having iPhoto start up, do it's thing and then post directly to the website. Same with a file already on the computer. If the iPad could post directly, I'd be sorely tempted.

Imagine the trip you'd have if you plugged an iPhone 5 with Apple Maps into a driverless car of the future and set out to cross the Hoover Dam!!!

Yes, Maps will give Apple a black eye for a long time. It was, is, and will be beta for some time to come. One of the big questions on Mac forums was why they didn't just add those 4 little letters and label it Beta like they did with Siri. It was a rushed product but with Apples so called maps partner Google refusing to provide the drive turn by turn feature, something had to be produced. For consolation, the head of IOS software who speculation says is apparently the one who refused to add the label and the guy down the chain directly responsible for the maps development project have both been fired.
