Electrical question please

I have a question about the starting system on my 47 deluxe Clipper. I like most things on my old cars pretty much the way they came from the factory but I'm not a purist. I don't want to ruffle any feathers here, but is there an easy way to change the starting system so you don't start the engine wide open. Starting a cold engine should be an easy, fast idle kind of start in my opinion. I release the gas pedal as quickly as possible, but the engine revs pretty high at first. Any way to add a start button to eliminate the high RPM at start up? Thanks, Richie.
