Thanks a lot for the tips. Frankly, I've never seen what the bead seating surface looks like. The exterior of the wheels have been sloppily (looks like they used a brush) with the color that was used on the car over the bikini blue original. You can still see the original paint near the rim, and they probably didn't even take off the dog dish hub caps. Obviously an afterthought. "Whoops, we missed those!" The rest of the paint job is quite good.

It'd be best to do the whole wheel as you suggest, but that wouldn't be feasible now as the car will be repainted in original color eventually, and I'll do them then. Thanks again for the quick reply.
