I agree Howard, I also have always found those brutes to be fascinating. The chain drive really had one huge advantage; for different axle ratios all you had to do was change sprockets and add or subtract a few chain links and get pretty much anything the situation called for. As I remember the Bulldogs that did the excavation for the Hoover dam had a final ratio of 10 or 12 to 1.

Renault in it's earlier years had the same type of engine cooling, fan was intergral with flywheel and with a bellypan pulled the air in and forced it out thru the rear radiator at both sides. Later Bulldogs actually had shutterstats on both radiator outlets.
