I'm a Lehigh Alumni, Mechanical Engineering class of 99, and walked pased this car many times during my years at Lehigh. I also saw it in fresh air at Warren....I heard stories about it being driven at Lehigh in the 80's and they had tied a rope around the axle with one man, or perhaps a few guys running behind getting ready to stop the car in case the brake failed. Lehigh is on a mountainside! (Old south mountain) I guess that's where they got the "run hard put away wet" As I remember this was at the inaguration of one of the Lehigh presidents. Packard Lab is a beautiful building with lots of attention to detail inside and out. I wonder if the car will get a different color than the black it is?
