Panther website major update!

Posted by Craig Hendrickson On 2016/3/10 8:17:23
It's been several years since I updated my Panther website, but a lot of progress has been made in the interim. There's something for any Packard enthusiast on there, so I posted this under "General" rather than "Modifications".

Here are the major sections:
The Inspiration
The Basis
Panther "Restomod" Projects
Panther Restoration Projects
Packard Conversion Projects
The Library
The Showroom
Packard Related Weblinks

The following major sections have minor or no changes:
The Inspiration
The Basis
Packard Conversion Projects (added Power Windows)
The Library
The Showroom
Packard Related Weblinks

Panther Restoration Projects (new):

Chassis Cleanup & Painting
Torsion-Level Suspension Overhaul
Body Sheetmetal Repair

Panther "Restomod" Projects (mostly new or some major updates): NOTE: if you are a purist, you may want to avoid this section!

Completed Subprojects (as of February 2016):

Engine Computer Simulations (updated)
Engine Components (non-stock, no change)
Panther-like Interior Upgrade (no change)
4-speed Manual Transmission
4-speed Floor Shifter
Brake Booster & Dual-master Cylinder
Fuel Delivery
Swaybars (Front & Rear)

Inprocess Subprojects:

Air Conditioning & Heater
Clutch & Pressure Plate (hydraulic)
Custom Body Modifications
Headers (Steel 3-tube)

Planned Subprojects:

Battery Relocation To Trunk
Driveshaft Modifications
Wheels & Tires

NOTE: some of the "Restomod" projects have also be covered in more or less the same detail in separate threads on PackardInfo.com.

Please let me know if you find any problems, i.e., broken links or missing pictures. I and others have tested it pretty thoroughly, but there appears to be a minor problem with "camel case" capitalization of some picture names between my test system and the ISP server. If you find something, please PM me rather than add a reply to this thread.http://1956packardpanther.com/Panther/PantherProject_Index.html

The other projects (Paul's 1956 Executive, Kevin's 1955 400 and Packard V-8 Club) on the main home page are unchanged.

Since the Panther Project is ongoing, there are some sections that are partially complete and "...to be continued."
