Well, the 4-speed synchro units are pretty uncommon and I suspect some folks who have them don't even recognize it as such. And it's just synchro on the top 2, 1st is still a VERY low low, almost never needed unless you're pulling stumps or moving a house. Pretty unlikely that you' find one easily.

But the 3-speed synchro unit should be relatively easy to find - have you asked Kanter if they have one up in their attic? They are an incredibly robust unit, given proper lube and not abused they should very easily go the better part of 100,000 miles (or more) with no problems. Should it need service, all the bearings are again available, if you need gears you'll probably have to settle for used ones. Synchros are generally adjustable but if they are beyond that, some Packard folk in Switzerland have reproduced them.

Why do you want to get rid of your 4-speed? Having trouble learning the technique of double-clutching? It takes a while to master it but once you get it down pat, it becomes second nature.
