Dual action pump

My 23rd Series has been converted to 12V, with an alternator, electric wipers and an electric fuel pump with the dual action pump bypassed.

I'm having another dual action pump rebuilt with the intention of replacing the bypassed pump, reconnecting it to the fuel delivery system and retaining the electric pump as a back up only. Don't intend to go back to 6V and will maintain it at 12V because of the other modifications.

My question is about the vacuum part of the dual action pump. Because of the electric wipers I won't be utilising the vacuum part of the pump and just intend to leave it in place.

Are there any precautions I should take or any ramifications to doing this?
