Re: Need help on my 34 brake vacuum valve

The original diaphragm was a specialized paper, kind of pinkish/orange in tint. It was very long-lived, mine was still in excellent shape as of a few years ago but I did choose to replace it with a rubber one from C&E.

I had exploded views of the internals that I got from Bendix (who bought the business from Bragg/Kliesrath) back in the 60s but haven't seen it in years, not sure I'll be able to find it. You might ask C&E for a sketch.

Do I assume your valve was not functioning? That is, you got the same amount of boost regardless of the amount of boost you selected?

And you do have boost? That is, the other vacuum valve, the one on the pedal linkage, is functioning along with the vacuum piston/cylinder? Note it too uses a paper diaphragm, also available from C&E.
