Not being one to "horde information", if you find that the crankcase dipstick isn't long enough and the car is an automatic, use the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Usually longer.

Now that my kid is too old for me to sell her teeth to the "tooth fairy", I break into junkyards on Sundays and go through the seats looking for change.
