A convertible victoria has seating for 5 (or 6) beneath the folding top, i.e. front and rear seats. A convertible coupe only has a single front seat beneath the folding top, i.e. seating for 2 or 3 under the top and any additional seating is outside the top as in a rumble seat.

Confusion also exists between the convertible and a roadster. Strictly speaking, a convertible has roll-up windows in the doors and a roadster does not. Roadsters had side curtains.

Other pairings that are often confused are phaeton and touring, and phaeton and convertible sedan. And even the best of car manufacturers often misused the body style definitions to make better advertising copy. Remember the VW Phaeton which actually was a 4-door sedan?

PS. Convertible Victoria typically also had blind quarters.
