As Dwight wrote the book , he is entitled to title it anything he cares to. The contents are the important thing and I find this title critic not as fraternal as Packard men should be.

This volume fills a void, and is important in documenting these cars. The Kimes book skips over this period with very little attention, mostly focused on politics. Packard:The pride also gives it little attention, like it was a disaster.

From the viewpoint of engineering, these are the greatest Packards by far. They have Power brakes, automatic transmission and ample power, double the old V-12 bhp.

That said, my favorite Packards are the old twin 6's and the brass Era 30's. Every Packard is a classic Many of the classic 30's Packards have coach work by 3rd parties, are they really the greatest Packards or are they Le Baron's or Darrin's ? They are probably both -
