'54 Senior engines were painted metallic bronze and I always liked that look, therefore I rummaged in the paint cabinet and the rest is history. I haven't decided on color for the truck yet.

That engine cradle is an easy build using 2 x 10 lumber. I build a rectangle that fits loosely to the oilpan. The engine ends up siting on the heads of all the bolts. The rear side of the rectangle is cut low to clear the bell housing. Then you just screw on some feet to mate with whatever dolly you might come across.

That is great for storage or for test running as it is quite stable. For any sort of rebuilding it is always in the way and too low to the ground. For building these engines I use a heavy duty stand and bolt them to the stand using the 4 bolt holes that usually secure the left side engine mount.

As an aside, I will be running 12v for the benefit of the Torsion Level.
