these guys are called Then and Now Automotive and sold me a rebuild kit for my fuel pump.

Carl, You bought a kit. Did you have any trouble installing it? Did the pump work OK when finished? I have read through the rebuild section in the service manual and find I have allot of trouble with the terminology. Half the time I don't know what they are referring to. I'm a good mechanic but have never rebuilt a pump before. If I wasn't already having fuel problems I wouldn't worry so much. I need this rebuild to be right the first time. Don't want to introduce a second problem trying to find the first. Think my problem may be vapor lock. On a trip got stuck in weekend stop and go traffic. When the traffic picked up again the thing sputtered allot when the accelerator was pushed down. Outside temp was around 90. After that I found that after the car sat for a month or so the pump would not pick up the fuel on it's own. Disconnected the line from the carb and cranked the engine and saw no fuel spurt out. After much starting fulid the thing finally picked up fuel and would maintain 3.5 to 4.5 pounds of pressure. Really not sure what I'm dealing with here. Any help?
