It's a happenstance that comes with the hobby and bites all of us at some time. But for the future, WD-40 is a decent rust preventative but almost ineffective at loosening it. Try PB-Blaster, perhaps the best, next time. Croil is another. Heat would have helped.

Good machine shops deal with this all the time, I'm sure they'll get you back in business in no time.
