Here's a pix of Team Finland's car which participated (and finished) in a recent Peking to Paris race. The driver was Martti Kiikka. I can get a bit more information if of interest, a friend here in NJ who regularly supplies Packard parts to Scandanavia was involved in some of the preparations.

Uncertain of the added tank on the side, perhaps fuel or water? I understand the suspension of the car was significantly strengthened for the trip.
