The "-5-" means it is a 1949 23rd series that has been renumbered to be a 1950 23rd series. The 23rd series spanned the 1949 and 1950 model years. Similarly, the 22nd series spanned the 1948 and 1949 model years. A "-9-" indicated a 1948 22nd series renumbered to be a 1949 22nd series model. Confused?
