Consider a STANDARD (non-power) brake pedal. The kind that come up thru the floor. Just the STEM of the pedal and foot pad. Not the arm that is under the floor. Probably the same such pedals are used 51 thru 56, maybe even earlier.

I'm wondering if such a pedal arrangement like that mite work in a more universal manner. Just weld or affix in some appropriate way to the SIDE lever u fabricated.

Of course it would not be 'oroginal' for Sr. level cars but mite be an alternative to consider when allowing for universal fit of your current mechanism.
