John,
I envy you your Packard lamp not to mention your desk. I'm "lucky" to have a small corner in the dining room for my desk. It's usually covered in stuff with the overflow extending to the dining room table until such time as Kath demands a clean up! When the youngest son moves out, probably next year as marriage appears likely, I'll then be able to take over his bedroom as my study.
