G'day California Woodgraining,

Could be a number of explanations as to why that's occurred, different frame and body, but.....to ensure your Packard is included in the Registry I'd be happy to accept either!

On a more serious note I'd think the number on the ID plate mounted on the body would be the one to use as I understand most authorities accept that, notwithstanding that some use the engine number, when titling a car. Some may use the frame number but I wouldn't think many would go that route. Plus there is the visual recognition factor, which is a large part of car identification, so the body number becomes paramount there.

If you could supply us with further details, ie; year and type of frame and year and type of body, it would help with in the categorisation of your Packard and it's consequent placement in the Packard Owner's Registry.
