It actually might not be a bad idea anyway--not that someone couldn't see a monstrously large Packard looming in the distance. Out here there are several roads where headlights are mandatory and have to be on at all times if you don't want to risk giving the state money. Many have gotten in the habit and I believe several other countries require a running light on as well.
