Wow! I just now, Wednesday, 23rd of November, checked this question again and read the part about the tappets being hydraulic. Anyway, brother-in-law says it is a tappet issue! You fellas are good! There is also a problem with the carb needing rebuilt, but that is another story altogether. I will try and get ALL the car's info on the site so it will be accessible when I need help!
