This was the first thought that entered my mind when I began reading this thread. Sadly I have to agree with Al in post #10. I do believe that we are the last generation of car lovers that really appreciate the cars for what they are/were. This's why I've responded so harshly, at times, to the people who only want to reinvent the Packard because they don't seem to understand, or for that matter want to understand, why the car was built the way it was. The motto of the younger generation seems to be "If something doesn't work the way
they think it should the fault must lay with the inept engineers that designed it in the first place. If only they were as smart as we are they wouldn't have built it that way. Let's make it 12 volts. That will fix it.
There will always be some young people that get it but sadly I don't think there will be enough of them in the long run.
I agree, Enjoy them wile you can.
