Dave (O_D), right after seeing the 41 LeBaron body tag it occured to me to have seen a prewar Ford with a body made by Briggs. It came without embossed "Briggs" branding and used another number system but:

- it was the same small tin strip
- screwed left and right
- radiused at both ends (I believe)

It seems to be something special because "usual" prewar Ford bodies have the known Briggs body number tag as shown below. If you deem it worthy, I feel optimistic about finding a pic.
