I have one of those big plastic storage bins in the trunk when on a highway trip in my '47. In it are
Tool box with set of wrenches, set of 1/4 and 3/8 drive sockets, adjustable wrench, screwdrivers, channel lock pliers, needle nose pliers, vise grips, , misc. other odds and sods and small can of radiator sealer crystals
Ka-Bar USMC knife
Can of tire inflator/sealer.
Road side reflectors and several flares
Refective bright orange vest
Disposable coveralls
Can of waterless hand cleaner and paper towels
Fire extinguisher (also one in car)
Flashlight with spare batteries
Tow strap
Spare fuel pump (car also equipped with electric pump)
Spare points, condensor and distributor cap
Spare fuel filter.
Fuses and spare light bulbs ( my car has halogen headlights) in the glove box.
We travel with a cell phone, Credit cards, CAA membership card and GPS unit.
Not much room for luggage!
Oh I almost forgot did I mention fly dope!
