OK, here are some pics I took.
You should get a template which you tape to the fender to show you exactly where to drill the three holes for the mounting bracket. The bracket should also come with a bushing to guide the 1/2 inch drill bit. As I said, the machinist loaned me a much smaller 20 inch bit and made a bushing to fit that bit as a guide. Patience is a key word here as I let the drill do the work and did not rush the job.
As far as friends not letting friends mount spotlights, I didn't know you then Rodger.
