Doing something with the armored cable and it's connection is going to be the issue with any modern coil. Not sure if the Bosch is a different configuration than "normal" modern coils but mounting anything will require some kind of support for that end cup and terminal. I suppose tape would do in a pinch if you just needed to get home to make permanent repairs.

The Clipper owner has a similar predicament. I decided I didn't want to spend the money on the 47 Clipper coil which mounts to the firewall. Decent, new, and probably better universal coils are available for about 1/10 the cost of a real item. While there are stamped sheetmetal aftermarket brackets to mount a modern coil to the firewall in the original location, I didn't like the looks of them. Even with that aftermarket bracket, there was still the issue of what to do with the armored cable.

Here are a few photos of how I made my own bracket to resemble the original layout and incorporate the modern coil. It also keeps the armored cable under control. With the new pristine firewall insulation pad in place it almost looks stock.

Maybe something similar could be done for those coils that mount on the engine.
