The cost of a covered carrier compared to an open one may not be that much more.

I say this because the car will be protected, probably insured, and delivered on time. Think of it as a short term insurance policy premium.

Of course if you are transporting a "project" then an open carrier may be the way to go.

You need to amortize the cost difference over the time you expect to own the car. My bet is the extra cost will be unnoticed.

It all depends upon how much you can afford now.

You may be able to find something as good or better closer to home for the price of the car plus shipping.

Things to consider...
