Hi

That's a great look into another time, surprising clear footage.

At 1:50- 1.53, the smoky Clipper taxi comes along side a 1941 Lincoln that by the shape of its rear window makes it a 138" wb Custom 7 passenger sedan or limousine. The regular sedan has an oval rear window. Best of all, they both just pass the Zelda Apartments! Does that ever sound like the setting for film noir!

At 3:16, a 1937 Six or 120 Club Sedan is parked on the street, parked above it on a lot is a light-colored 1939 Studebaker Commander or President Club Sedan (club coupe) which is a rare body style in those Studes.

At 4:06-4:15, is U-Drive Rent-A-Car, $2.50/day, another sign mounted high on the building advertises "Limousines for Hire" Wonder what renting a Packard limousine went for a day then?

At 6:04, a 1940 Cadillac 60 Special with sidemounts is parked.

Throughout, most everything looks pretty much to be ordinary blackwall-tire production cars, not a custom-bodied Classic in sight even in L.A.

Steve
