Apologies for going a bit off-topic. Other than the radial diesel aircraft engines, the only diesels I'm aware of that Packard designed and produced, at least as a commercial venture, are the non-magnetic engines made in the 50s for U.S. Navy minesweeper service. These were turbocharged and in production from 1951 thru 1956.http://www.packardclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=478

Here's 2 photos of one, taken during the PAC National in Pontiac this year at the Proving Grounds. An idea of the size is given by the Packard IM-245 alongside. This engine restored and donated by Mr. Ole Book.
