First, I love that Einstein quote. I see it demonstrated daily when watching what's going on in Washington, DC.

Second, having lived the bulk of my life in the south, when I moved to Madison, Wisconsin, I couldn't wait for the first winter and Christmas, so I could cut my own Christmas tree. It looked like such an adventure when depicted in TV shows and movies. Also, I well remember all those idyllic Christmas cards featuring a happy group of people cutting down a Christmas tree. Boy, was I in for a rude awakening!

I had to trudge through knee-high snow in single-digit weather into a field of trees with a hand-saw. By the time I was able to cut the tree down, my hands were numb, then I had to drag the tree back to my truck through the snow. By the time I got to my truck, I was winded. When I got the tree home, I had to let it thaw for a day in the garage until the snow and ice melt out of the limbs. What an ordeal.

One thing for sure, it was an adventure.
Happy Holidays
