Meanwhile - out at the Proving Grounds...

Now that you've opened that door............

Thankfully the snow missed the PPG yesterday - it was 27 degrees and sunny. Which was perfect weather for car testing and racing for the Cub Scout Pack 92 that we sponsor.

Over 100 people attended the 2016 running of the Pinewood Derby. Each car must run 12 times - twice in each of the 6 lane tracks and the best average speed is the winner. A new track record was set at 189 scale miles per hour.

You could not image how much fun both the kids and adults had. Below are some photos of the activity and cars. Notice what a 9, 10 or 11 year olds version of a (red) '49 bathtub or (black) Vincent Speedster and in the background (glass case) is a 1932 Twin Six.

This gives us a great opportunity to tell the kids and their parents about the history of Packard and what their grandparents did here in Detroit
