The sun shines 302 days per year on average in El Paso, 83% of daylight hours, according to the National Weather Service; from this, the city is nicknamed "The Sun City". Therefore it doesn't surprise, that local newspapers published reflections on how to cool the cars, starting in times before air condition. And even then Packard was in the play.
